An examination of the total range of human cultural diversity. The goal is to understand the enormous diversity of human culture, and to understand why and how different ways of life have arisen.

Beginning 2D Studio Art – 8:10-10:00 AM

An introductory course in Studio Art designed for students with little or no drawing skills that explores a range of media and methods. This may include charcoal, pencil, marker, collage, mixed media, printmaking, perceptual drawing, composition, narrative, and realism.

This course centers around the developments in European art during the 19th century.

Students create very large paintings of figures in complicated theme based environments that they design as a group.

Introduction to the techniques and concepts of ceramic sculpture and functional ceramics.

Beginning Mixed Media 3-D – 10:00 AM-12:00 PM

This course introduces students to the process of creating three-dimensional works digitally using simple CAD programs and 3D printers, as well as a variety of materials and building processes. The student is taught the basics of traditional foundry casting methods and an introduction to the history of sculpture.
